Prepare Your Vehicle for Fall in Rochester, NY, and Raleigh, NC with 3 Tips!
Fall is on its way and winter is right behind it, bringing with it cold weather and a ton of issues with it! These can cause problems for your vehicle if you’re not prepared, especially in the upper parts of the country! Thankfully, there are several things you can do to help prepare your model, three of which we’ll cover here. Continue reading below to learn more!
Check Your Tires
Your tires are some of the most important parts of your model, being the point of contact between your vehicle and the road. These make it one of the key parts you need to inspect at the turn of each season, taking into account its tread, inflation, and the overall tire condition. Also, consider switching to winter tires if needed – which is likely in the northern half of the nation!
Check Belts and Hoses
You should also take the time to check your hoses and belts in order to find out if there’s been significant wear and tear. These include signs of fraying, splitting, or glazing, issues that could cause your vehicle to overheat – even in colder months. If you notice any of these problems, you should definitely have your model serviced!
Prepare for the Cold Weather Properly
You don’t want to be stranded in the cold, and many of us hope that we wont, but you have to be prepared for it. You should prepare a winter weather emergency kit and keep it stocked. Examples of some items to have in this kit include:
- Gloves
- Ice Scraper
- Blanket and Winter Clothes
- First Aid Kit
- Flashlight
- Trail Mix or Similar
